Xiaoshuai was an exceptionally gifted Peashooter from the Pea Clan. One day, while sunbathing with his girlfriend Xiaokui, he was ambushed by a special trio of zombies. While protecting Xiaokui, he was infected with the zombie virus carried by a parasitic Buckethead Zombie and became a Zombie Peashooter.
Transformed into an outcast, he was bullied, persecuted, and abused by some Plant Clan groups. During a zombie uprising, Xiaoshuai, despairing, chose to end his life beneath the hammer of a Red-Eyed Giant Zombie.
But after he died, a plant who had fled from another timeline witnessed what had happened to him. It ultimately brought him back to life at the cost of nearly dissolving into nothing.
Having died once, Xiaoshuai changed completely and became the plant-zombie Pea Imp. Ten years after the first Dr. Edgar Zombie was defeated by the Eastern Plant City, he gathered his own zombie forces and launched a long-delayed reckoning against the Eastern Plant City, which had once hurt him. The retribution had been building for nineteen years.
