The Crimson Pearl's Grudge: A Record of Reborn Ill-Fated Love

Lin Daiyu is dead. One moment she is preparing to marry Baoyu; the next, she drinks a cup of tea and faints. When she wakes, the door is locked from the outside, and Baochai’s maid is standing beyond it. Daiyu understands at once. How could they do this? Lin Daiyu is literally angered to death.

After dying, her soul drifts out. She goes to Jia Mu’s courtyard and sees Jia Mu being attended by maids, still murmuring, “Lin girl and Baoyu are getting married today. At last, one of my worries is settled.” Daiyu thinks the old madam must not know what happened. As she is thinking this, Jia Mu smiles and lies down on the bed, never to wake again.

Lin Daiyu enters and stands beside Baoyu. He seems to sense her presence and tears off the bride’s veil. Seeing that it is not his Lin-meimei, he murmurs, “You’re not the one I’m supposed to marry. You must have harmed my Lin-meimei.”

Hearing this, Lin Daiyu’s heart lurches. Brother Bao, how do you know I’m already dead? So be it. Since things have come to this, I’ll go to the underworld and find Father. Lin Daiyu’s soul drifts toward the underworld. At the same time, Jia Baoyu walks out of the mansion in a daze. He goes into the mountains and becomes a monk, and the servants cannot stop him.

Just as Wang Xifeng and her husband are growing anxious, an imperial edict arrives from the palace: Consort Yuan has died, and the Rongguo Mansion is to be exiled. Even now, no one understands. It was only a change of brides, so how could the whole family be exiled?

Meanwhile, after Lin Daiyu enters the underworld, a ghost official leads her to her father, Lin Ruhai. Lin Ruhai has now become a judge. He listens as his daughter recounts what happened...
