Becoming a Farmer: The Wind at Houdoumen

It’s all make-believe, so please go easy on me, teachers.

Xu Yan, an outstanding student at an agricultural university, is specially invited by the production team to appear on Let’s Go Farming. At first, as an introvert, Xu Yan only wants to add another data point to a graduation thesis, but gradually becomes one of the group of ten young men.

The wind at Houdoumen blows from the barren fields of Season One to the mountains and seas of Season Three. It carries the sour smell of 30 tons of organic fertilizer and the fragrance of 4,000 pots of roses. It sweeps over saplings newly planted in the desert, and opens up a life Xu Yan once thought would contain nothing but a thesis. It turns out that the most vivid agricultural experience is never a formula in a textbook. It’s the time spent with a group of people, turning wasteland into a sea of flowers and even the wind into warmth.
