This book is a long and short story telling story created by Zhang Jiexin, a storytelling artist in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. It is adapted from works such as "Shi Gong'an" and "Peng Gong's Case". It is the pinnacle of traditional chivalrous novels. The story is set in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, with the "Three Heroes" (Sheng Ying, Ding Zhaolan, and Ding Zhaohui) and the "Three Swords" (Ai Lianchi, Red Girl, Xiahou Shangyuan) as the protagonists, telling the story of their journey to uphold justice for heaven, promote good and eliminate evil. The famous scenes in the book, such as "Big Break at Lotus Valley" and "Stick Sweeping Xiao Jintai", are splendid, with detailed descriptions of martial arts, rich Jianghu rules and sect settings, and complex and vivid relationships between characters, which are highly artistically appealing.
