[Tomato gives no traffic, so the author has already run away]
A ten-thousand-year game of chess + a substitute romance + an ensemble cast + suspense + the supernatural + bittersweet sweetness = nine out of ten things in life don't go your way.
The twenty-ninth day of the seventh lunar month, also known as the Day of Seven Shadows, is when yin energy is strongest all year.
On her way to her school's freshman welcome party, Su Yu accidentally boarded a ghost bus bound for the human world. From then on, the course of her destiny changed.
“Isn't it normal for demons and ghosts to like blood?”
“No. They only like your blood!”
After she was accidentally tainted by demonic energy, she learned the truth.
“What, I'm descended from a family of exorcists?”
A blood curse, ghost eyes, unusual blood, an extraordinary spiritual meridian? And a mysterious treasure she can't speak of? Isn't this the perfect constitution for cultivating immortality?
“What perfect constitution? You're clearly just Tang Monk's flesh, and the kind that won't live past three months.”
To break her family's blood curse and save herself, Su Yu took the family egg with her and boldly ventured into the demon realm.
She thought she could get the immortal apricot within a month, dispel the demonic energy, and return to school.
But...
Beneath the ten-thousand-year chessboard, she had long since entered the game.
In her repeated attempts to save herself, Su Yu went from a bystander to someone forced into the game, and finally to the one who flipped the table herself.
“You say this is my fate? I refuse.”
“What kind of heavenly destiny is that? Then I'll defy it.”
“You say I'm more than just Su Yu.”
“I am Su Yu, and nothing else!”
A tale of inheritance spanning several thousand years.
The novel was originally planned to be around 800,000 words. It uses a partly reverse-chronological structure. It is not a romance, not a romance.
Su Yu begins to awaken at the end of Volume One, gains an initial understanding in Volume Two, and only reaches the true heart of the story in Volume Three.
My story is painful, not tragic!
Hope you enjoy it.
