I Accidentally Joined a Martial Arts Chat Group

Graduate school? A job? A completely blank resume? Chen Fan, a third-year college student, feels like his life is an unsolvable physics problem. Then, on the title page of an old wuxia novel, he discovers a handwritten group number. The group is called “Hidden Heroes.”

The other members talk strangely: a construction boss discusses using “inner force” to tamp down foundations, a businesswoman shares an ancient recipe for “Golden Wound Salve,” and a retired old man keeps tagging everyone at midnight to post strange, high-paying part-time jobs “assisting with bird observation”... Chen Fan thinks he's joined a group of terminal chuunibyou, until, in a panic while rushing to deliver an urgent package, he silently recites the “Basic Lightness Technique Chant” from the group files. That day, the campus surveillance cameras capture a blur sprinting at top speed. Chen Fan stares at the group chat exploding on his phone and falls into thought:

So... what kind of group did I actually join?!
