This work is based on espionage historical materials during the preparation and implementation of the "Legal Currency Strategy Work Plan" for counterfeiting Chinese currency approved by Japanese Army Minister Hideki Tojo in 1938. The protagonist, code-named "Blacksmith" and alias Liu Jingduo, is an ace agent of the military command directly under the leadership of Dai Li. He and the leader of the Eighth Section of the Japanese Army General Staff Headquarters in charge of intelligence, the director of the Japanese Army's Ninth Research Institute (also known as the "Noborito Research Institute") and Army Accountant Major Kenzo Yamamoto conducted counterfeiting and anti-counterfeiting on a secret front. During the desperate struggle, double agents from the U. S. Naval Intelligence Service and the Soviet Union's State Security Service were interspersed. The story was always accompanied by the love and hatred between the Kuomintang boss's playboy and the cold-blooded spy. It ended with the failure of the secret combat plan implemented by the Japanese military and Japanese secret services to destroy China's economic field.
