"We Are Forty and Confused" tells the story of two forty-year-old women - independent photographer Li Mujin and "perfect housewife" Tang Li. When Mu Jin meets Su Hang, a curator who is seven years younger than herself, a sister-brother relationship that understands each other and cherishes each other quietly sprouts. Su Hang not only became her artistic confidant, but also saw through all her loneliness and longing with his young but profound eyes. At the same time, Tang Li rediscovered herself in a broken marriage and learned to take off the mask of perfection. The three souls illuminate each other between truth and performance, age and courage, and finally understand that forty is not the end of youth, but the beginning of finally daring to let the true self emerge in time.
