Great Tang: The Retired Emperor Raises Dragons, and Li Shimin Cries in Fear

Chu He is reborn as the Tang dynasty's golden dragon of national destiny. Just as he grows weak, he is fished out of a pond in the imperial garden by Li Yuan, the retired emperor, who has just abdicated and lost all hope!

The Xuanwu Gate Incident has just ended. Li Shimin has imprisoned his father and killed his brothers, and Li Yuan only wants to spend his days doing nothing.

Chu He panics. “If you slack off, how am I supposed to evolve? If the Tang dynasty doesn't expand, where will I get the fortune I need to feed on?”

To regain his strength, Chu He has no choice but to get to work and launch his “Train the Retired Emperor” plan.

A 200,000-strong Turkic army is at the border, and Chang'an is in mortal danger?

Chu He: “Old man, stop sleeping! Lend me your finger. Watch me summon heavenly thunder and destroy Jieli Khan!”

A severe drought has struck Shandong, leaving the people destitute?

Chu He: “Open wide. I'll breathe down some dragon rain. Go make those powerful clans kneel and call you Dad!”

Years later, Li Shimin looks at the Daan Palace, where all nations come to pay tribute and dragon energy takes form. Trembling on his knees, he says, “Father, please take the throne back. I really can't handle this anymore...”

Li Yuan helplessly strokes the golden dragon looming behind him, its body blotting out the sky. “I told you long ago, all I wanted was to fish. It was the dragon that insisted on taking me flying!”
