The Long Night's Slumber

Driven to the brink, humanity forged blades from bone and offered blood as a sacrifice to hunt down the blood-devouring beasts ravaging the world.

The trust forged in battle and the bonds shared between life and death still couldn’t withstand fate’s backlash.

They burned through their passion, going from fighting side by side to taking separate paths.

In the end, the beasts were slain, and every last person died.

No one returned. Only the endless night remained, burying all their love, hatred, and bones together in eternal sleep.

I brought you home, but you can’t open your eyes and look around one last time.

We once promised to meet beneath the peach blossoms. Now the flowers have all fallen, and I’m the only one left.
