Under the old locust tree at the village entrance, Lin Wan is the crazy bride everyone despises.
Ten years ago, on her wedding day, her groom fell off a cliff and vanished without a trace.
But Lin Wan seems frozen in time on that very day. Every morning before dawn, she puts on her yellowed wedding dress, applies her long-faded bridal makeup, and sits motionless on a rock at the village entrance, waiting for her husband to come home.
The villagers call her crazy, children throw stones at her, and newlyweds in the village consider her an ill omen. Only she clings to that sliver of hope, living in her husband's home and caring for her elderly in-laws until they pass away.
Her late husband's uncle takes the land that belongs to her family and beats and berates her at every turn. The village committee treats her as a joke and deliberately withholds part of her subsistence allowance.
She lives in her own world, holding on to the promise, "Wait for me to come home," and swallowing every humiliation, hoping only to see that familiar figure appear at the far end of the mountain road.
No one knows that the figure who fell off the cliff never actually perished.
He accidentally transmigrated to another world and entered a cultivation realm where time flowed at a different rate.
Three thousand years passed in the blink of an eye. The ordinary young man he once was had long since ascended to the position of Great Emperor, looking down upon the Three Realms.
When Zhou Hao used magic to look back at his homeland, he mistakenly thought Lin Wan had remarried. But the moment he saw the truth, the Great Emperor's eyes reddened. His bride was still wearing that old wedding dress, shoved to the ground by others, yet still desperately protecting the bracelet he had given her all those years ago.
His overwhelming fury overturned the stars and rivers. Three thousand years of restraint and longing became a cry that shook heaven and earth: "Who dares lay a hand on my woman!"
He was willing to tear apart space and time, using the might of a Great Emperor to break open a passage between the two worlds, all so he could return to that little mountain village and settle accounts with every person who had ever bullied her!
To give her the wedding they had waited ten years for.
This book is actually very good! As miserable as it is in the early part, it's so exciting in the later part! I couldn't bear to see it being so miserable, and I really couldn't stick with it, so I just jumped to the chapter where the protagonist returns to Earth. The author just don't blame me. In fact, I admire the author very much. It's really amazing that he can write like this normally 👍
I'll give it 4 stars. It's actually quite well written, but the front part is too torturous and many people can't stick to the back part. I insisted on reading it mainly because of the heroine. The author's writing style is good, but the front part easily makes readers abandon the story.
For those who like single female protagonists, I can tell you responsibly that if you close your eyes and watch it, you won't be able to see the slightest bit of cuteness or pulling at all. It's just that it's too sadistic in the early stages, but very sweet in the later stages. The sweet period between the two of them is too short, but this is the author's problem 🤭 🤭 🤭
All fellow Taoists in the comment area are putting pressure on you, the author. How you respond and whether you can persist in writing depends on your luck. Although your pace of dragging books is still a bit slow. You didn't consider the rhythm of the beginning at all when you wrote it 🤦
This is indeed very good-looking, but there are so many pictures that I almost lose interest even if the main character doesn't come back.
After watching the ten pictures, did anyone skip to the end when the male protagonist came back? If you didn't watch anything else, it would be worthy of five stars. It's just that there was too little sweet plot at the end 😏 😏 😏 🤦 🤦 🤦
In fact, this book is not bad. The author's writing style is comparable to that of an 8-rated book. However, the only shortcoming is that the plot is too brainless and there are many unreasonable things. It does not have a normal world view, but the description is not bad. If you don't care about these, you can read it. I hope the author can correct these shortcomings in the next book 😄
Nice! It's a cool story about revenge for one's wife. I couldn't bear to watch the heroine being tortured in the middle, so I skipped to the beginning when the hero came back.
Although this book is short, the revenge plot is very relieving and not dragging at all. But the beginning is quite sad, and after reading Chapter 30, I started looking directly at the post-return plot.
It looks good, I don't know what the follow-up will be like, I'm looking forward to it.
