Dream of the Red Chamber: Kangxi Is My Son, So What's Wrong with Being a Tyrant?

An overworked corporate drone transmigrates into Kangxi and turns the tables with workplace PUA!

Zhu Wu, a modern office worker who worked 996 hours and died suddenly, opens his eyes to find himself Emperor Kangxi, though in his forty-seven-year-old version.

Even more absurdly, the real Kangxi has transmigrated into the body of his son, the Fourth Prince, Yinzhen!

From the start, it’s hell mode: he faces the scheming princes vying for the throne, a harem of fiercely ambitious consorts, and the “son” inside his body who’s always ready to kill him...

Zhu Wu’s take: Whoever wants this job can have it. I’m going to be a lousy emperor!

And so the Forbidden City’s whole vibe changes overnight:

The real Kangxi (Yinzhen) is forced to kneel and review memorials for his “fake father,” watching helplessly as his consorts are shamelessly flirted with. He’s so furious he spits blood, yet still has to proclaim, “Your Majesty is wise.”

The fake Kangxi (Zhu Wu) gives up completely, using modern tactics to reform the imperial court while shamelessly pursuing the beauties of the Dream of the Red Chamber.

Xue Baochai? Made a Noble Lady on the spot! Jia Yuanchun? Serving in the bedchamber tonight! He’ll make both the history books and the Dream of the Red Chamber fall apart!

The struggle among the princes erupts ahead of schedule: the Crown Prince is dumbfounded, the Eighth Prince is overjoyed, and all the princes watch their suddenly favored, then suddenly snubbed “Fourth Brother,” going mad as they ride the roller coaster of “fatherly love.”

When the true art of imperial scheming collides with a transmigrator’s overwhelming modern advantage...

Zhu Wu uses performance reviews to manage his ministers, workplace PUA to keep Kangxi in line, and the supernatural cheat of “making the beauties of the Dream of the Red Chamber young again” to keep himself alive.

Kangxi bides his time in humiliation and plots in despair, vowing to reclaim the throne and make this usurper pay!
