"Emperor Monkey King" begins with Sun Wukong being tricked by the Tathagata in Lingshan Mountain and nearly being silenced by the six-eared macaque. It tells the story of the former "Emperor Monkey King" after he understood the shocking scam of Buddhism, from the collapse of his faith to rising up to resist, and finally breaking the established order of the three realms.
On the Lingshan Mountain, Tathagata wanted to get rid of Sun Wukong by telling him about the "real and fake Monkey King", but his conspiracy was discovered by Sun Wukong on the spot. Sun Wukong broke free and burst out with unprecedented power. Although he severely injured the six-eared macaque, he was unable to defeat the Tathagata himself. He finally tried his best to escape from the Lingshan Mountain and completely broke with Buddhism.
On the way to escape, Sun Wukong avoids Buddhist pursuits while exploring the truth of the scam: he discovers that the path to obtain the scriptures is a domestication situation carefully laid out by Buddhism. Tang Monk's foolishness, the constraints of the tight curse, and the "extra-legal mercy" of monsters with background are all designed to weaken his edge, obliterate his will, and even secretly suppress his original power. The appearance of the six-eared macaque was precisely to replace him after he lost his use value and complete the key step of "obtaining scriptures" to consolidate the power of Buddhism.
In order to fight against the powerful Buddhism, Sun Wukong returns to Huaguo Mountain to eliminate the traitors and gather the power of the demon world. He united with his former subordinates such as the Bull Demon King and the Jiao Demon King to form the Demon Realm Alliance and launched a fierce battle against the Buddhist encirclement and suppression. In the process, he went deep into the ruins of the ancient demon god, awakened the origin of the stone monkey, merged with the energy of chaos, and broke through the remaining power of the curse.
