Wasteland Plant Speech: From the Start, I Find the Strongest Commander

Lin Zhi’s heart leapt into her throat, and her pace quickened involuntarily. At last, before it grew completely dark, she found a shallow cave beneath a rock face not far from the stream, just big enough to squeeze into. Thick vines hung across the entrance like a natural curtain, perfectly concealing it. She pushed the vines aside and carefully checked inside. Only after confirming there were no animal droppings or claw marks did she relax and slump to the ground. She was safe for now. But before she could catch her breath, a deep growl came from the nearby forest, shattering the brief silence. The sound carried far, laden with raw, primal wildness, and struck her heart like a heavy hammer. Every hair on Lin Zhi’s body stood on end. She scrambled to the deepest part of the cave and clamped a trembling hand over her mouth. She hardly dared to breathe. Her heart pounded wildly in her chest, as if it might smash through her ribs. Night fell like a vast curtain, swallowing this unfamiliar world completely. Lin Zhi leaned against the cold stone wall and hugged her chilly knees, shivering in the endless darkness. She knew the unknown dangers were only just beginning. What secrets did the eerie vortex that had dragged her here conceal? How many more deadly threats lurked in this silent forest? Her first night in this otherworld was destined to be long and agonizing.
