I gave it four stars because of the writing style and unique narrative technique. The whole novel is like a long ink scroll with light ink and smudged colors, with a cool artistic conception and a full sense of atmosphere. I personally think that if the story was set in the Republic of China, it would better fit this gloomy and desolate temperament. All the characters in the book are immersed in black, white and gray tones. There are no vivid bright colors, and depression and distress are everywhere. Since I was listening to the book, I couldn't help but come back and read it again. Then I felt sad for a long time and couldn't help but wonder what kind of person the author was.
