Archaeologist Yu Chao touches a mysterious jade axe at the Shimao ruins and unexpectedly transmigrates to the tribal era four thousand years in the past. Facing the shackles of human sacrifice and totem worship, he uses his modern knowledge to improve tools and create a written language, gradually breaking the hold of divine authority, establishing laws, and uniting scattered tribes into the glorious Great Yu Dynasty, where he builds the towering city of Shimao.
Just as Yu Chao believes civilization is on the right track, he discovers an even more ancient horror lurking beyond the world. The jade axe connects him to distant lands: astrologers of Ur’s Second Dynasty observe strange movements in the stars, the seal on an Egyptian pharaoh’s pyramid is slowly weakening, and the practitioners of Harappa resist silent whispers that invade the mind. The four great civilizations discover, one after another, that their seemingly independent beliefs and myths all point to the same indescribable beings coveting Earth: the Great Old Ones.
To face the approaching apocalypse, Yu Chao must bridge the chasms of language and culture and unite all of humanity’s nascent sparks of civilization. The Jade Road becomes the lifeblood of their alliance, bronze weapons are inscribed with sealing spells, and ritual dances become battle formations. A mythic war for humanity’s survival erupts atop Kunlun, where the leaders of civilization offer their bloodlines and legacies as sacrifices to unleash an ancient forbidden art.
In the end, the evil gods are driven away, but the price is a collective rupture in civilization. The glorious history of the Great Yu Dynasty and its allies is erased, leaving only a broken jade axe and scattered epics passed down by word of mouth. In the modern era, fragments of a jade axe engraved with strange symbols are unearthed once more at the Shimao ruins, as though the legend that vanished ten thousand years ago is waiting to be awakened again...
This is a “lost” epic of an ancient civilization, and a sweeping myth about knowledge, faith, and sacrifice.
It's quite interesting, keep up the good work
