A Forged Edict in the Great Ming: Building the Empire's Foundations in the Yongle Era

I transmigrated to the Ming Dynasty and became Zhu Yunwen's younger half-brother, Zhu Yuntong.

I opened my eyes to the final act of the Jingnan Campaign: Zhu Di had captured Nanjing, Zhu Yunwen had fled, and I was left alone to face the Yongle Emperor.

In history, Zhu Yuntong was imprisoned until he died. I refuse to accept that ending!

In my previous life, I was a top-tier antiquities dealer, with forgery skills perfected to the highest level.

Zhu Yuanzhang's succession edict? Zhu Biao's memorial urging him to take the throne?

Give me one night, and I'll "restore" the truth of history!

When I presented the two "ancient" documents to Zhu Di, tears streaming down my face, I said:

"Fourth Uncle, this is Grandfather's blood-written edict... Zhu Yunwen poisoned the late emperor. You are the true heir!"

Zhu Di's hand trembled as he looked at the "authentic original." The monk Daoyan's gaze was inscrutable.

I knew they were only half-convinced, but that didn't matter. You need this throne to be "legitimate."

And I need to stay alive.

From then on, I became the most unusual "meritorious official" of the Yongle court.

Yet the look Fourth Uncle gave me from the dragon throne was always probing, while the smile of Daoyan, the black-clad chancellor, seemed to see through everything.

How long can I keep this lie-spun tale of helping him claim the throne under wraps?
