At the foot of Invincible Sect’s mountain, Ye Wei is running a stall and swindling passersby.
Unfortunately, it’s her first time doing this, and she’s not very good at it. She offends someone important and gets dragged back to Invincible Sect for a scolding.
But after hearing about her tragic past, an elder of Invincible Sect doesn’t punish Ye Wei. Instead, he points her toward a path.
A one-way path.
Later, Ye Wei successfully joins Invincible Sect and is accepted into Peerless Peak.
She thinks things are finally going to get better, but after seeing how rotten Peerless Peak is, her heart dies all over again.
So Ye Wei snaps. She abandons all pretense of civility and stops caring whether anyone else lives or dies.
The eldest senior brother is so anxious about his looks that he can barely think of anything else. After getting to know Ye Wei, he stops caring about his appearance and starts saying things like, “Of all the martial arts under heaven, only shamelessness is unbeatable. If I kill all the evil people who look better than me, then by rounding up, I’ll be the most handsome man in the world.”
The second senior brother’s family is richer than a kingdom, but he’s always worried they’ll go bankrupt one day. After meeting Ye Wei, he lets go of everything and declares, “I’m going to become a monk! Wealth is just something outside the self. You can look at it, but you really think you can have it all? Did I give you permission?”
The third senior brother has a vicious tongue and doesn’t even realize it. After meeting Ye Wei, he says, “Fifth Junior Sister says I’m born with a saintly heart, and every word I say is worth learning from. What gives you the right to say my mouth is full of filth?”
The fourth senior brother is incredibly powerful, yet spends all day worrying that disaster will strike him out of nowhere. After meeting Ye Wei, he says, “Everyone must die, whether tens of thousands of years from now or in the next second. Give me a life-extending pill, please. I’ll eat it as a snack.”
