In 'Xingang City' in 2047, the city is fully controlled by the giant company 'Cyber Eye' through neural interfaces and AI monitoring systems. Memories can be edited, emotions can be modulated, and identities can be tampered with. Chen Mo was once a member of the system, but chose to escape after witnessing his wife's mental breakdown due to the 'emotional regulation' program. He hid underground in the city and became a 'memory restorer', restoring the memories of those whose truths had been erased by the system. As he fixes more and more cases, a deliberately concealed conspiracy emerges - a 'cognitive cleansing' plan targeting the bottom population is being implemented. With the help of journalist Lin Wan, he formed a small resistance network in an attempt to expose the truth. However, the opponent is his former mentor Lu Wei, as well as the system itself, which has invested heavily. Every step of struggle is accompanied by the collapse of memory and the loss of identity. In the end, Chen Mo must choose between completely integrating the system and gaining eternal peace, or detonating the data core himself and plunging the city into controllable chaos. When he finally uploads the original files of his memories to the public network, he no longer belongs to any system but becomes the first ray of light in the darkness.
