Two Hundred Billion from the Start, I'm Taking Over the Entertainment Industry

Reborn + entertainment industry + System + director + wish fulfillment + career-focused + one heroine (Liu Yifei) + changing times

Ding! Beginner’s gift received: 200 billion dollars, top-tier directing skills, an award-winning actor’s abilities, and an entertainment company!

Looking at all those zeros in his bank account, Chen Shun falls silent.

Two hundred billion? US dollars? That’s enough to buy up half of Hollywood, isn’t it?

But he has no plans to simply buy it. In this life, he’ll build his own entertainment empire with his own hands.

For his first movie, he picks You Are the Apple of My Eye.

He’ll direct and star in it, with Liu Yifei as the leading lady.

The industry laughs at him: “A rich kid burning money for fun!” “What kind of box office can a youth film possibly make?”

Then the film comes out, breaks the opening-day box office record, and charges toward 500 million in total earnings.

At the celebration banquet, Han Sanping pats him on the shoulder. “Xiao Chen, what are you making next?”

Chen Shun smiles and opens a new script: Dying to Survive.

Everyone draws a sharp breath. “A medical drama? Will that even pass censorship?”

“If it doesn’t, we’ll revise it until it does,” Chen Shun says, his gaze unwavering. “But the things that need to be said must be said.”

From then on, Chinese-language cinema has a maverick “rich director” who never plays by the usual rules.

He makes youth films that leave a generation sobbing;

he makes social dramas that get the whole country thinking;

he makes commercial blockbusters that leave Hollywood crying, “The wolves are coming!”

A reporter asks, “Director Chen, what’s the secret to your success?”

Chen Shun glances at the System panel, where the scripts for The Wandering Earth, Wolf Warrior, and Hi, Mom are still waiting to be redeemed, then answers earnestly:

“Maybe it’s because I’ve watched a few more good movies than they have.”
