An epic journey of a goddess from the celestial realm, who is condemned by the power of fate to become a symbol of calamity, as she searches for redemption and a reason to exist through a thousand years of solitude.
· It begins when Nüba is stripped of her divine status and exiled to the banks of the Chishui River in the northwest.
"The blind girl" is the first, and only, life Nüba meets after her exile that does not fear her and warms her with pure human kindness. The loss of this brief friendship becomes the final straw, making her fully accept the curse of the name "Hanba."
"The shamaness" represents the humans who try to understand and exploit her power, caught in the confusion between science and superstition.
"The female doctor/farmer" represents ordinary women who remain resilient amid suffering and briefly let her experience an ordinary human role, showing her the tenacity of life itself.
Her restrained reunion with Yinglong takes place once by the banks of the Chishui River and once in a dream or a perilous situation. Between them lie deep love, guilt, and the despair of being unable to touch. He is her only link to the world of her past, and the eternal source of her pain.
In the depths of solitude and self-reflection, Nüba comes to understand the dual nature of power: destruction and purification. At the same time, she senses that the balance of heaven and earth has been disturbed. An ancient adversary, such as an incarnation of Chi You's lingering spirit, revives because of a spiritual "drought" in modern society, such as indifference and desire. It comes to the Chishui River, intent on devouring or exploiting the core of her power.
Yinglong appears. At the moment of the final crisis, he breaks free of his restraints or awakens from a long slumber and comes to her aid.
She offers her own divine nature as a sacrifice. Her physical form vanishes, but her consciousness becomes an eternal presence, taking a new form to protect the human world she once harmed and loved deeply.
