The Ugly Magician, the Beautiful God of Deceit

[Urban Superpowers] + [High Martial Arts] + [Ensemble Cast] + [Not a Power Fantasy] + [Doomsday] + [Twins] + [Mystery] + [Wasteland] + [Twilight of the Gods]

A thousand years ago, alien races descended, and Blue Star grew several times larger.

The mysterious and the apocalyptic ran rampant, and civilization crumbled into ruins. At humanity’s hour of peril, the gods revealed themselves. The chosen wielded divine authority, winning humankind a slender chance of survival over the abyss.

Several hundred years ago, a great cataclysm erupted. Their homeland became a “forbidden zone,” and the survivors fled to the last refuge.

This is an age of collapse. Humanity huddles beneath the gods’ protection, struggling to survive. The mysterious hunt across the wastelands and the deep sea, while the Apocalypse sits upon the throne of the old world, watching with cold indifference.

All living beings are believers in the gods, praying for salvation that seems to promise light. But who knows what kind of game those lofty gods are really playing?

My name is Fusheng, one of all living beings, and yet beyond them.

A mask, a hand of cards, and a “self.”

King of Spades, Queen of Hearts, Jack of Clubs… 54 cards, 54 taboos.

“I am Fusheng, a magician who brings the end.”

“I am Fusheng, born of trickery and deceit, ranked eighth.”

“Now then, gods, are you ready for your grand finale?”
