Autumn Deepens in the Palace

The inner palace of the Northern Qi dynasty is a slaughterhouse that devours the human heart.

Lianqiu, a low-ranking palace maid, was no more than a speck of dust in the palace of Chen, a Consort who had fallen out of favor. But after an accidental collision, she became an “unpredictable variable” in the emperor’s eyes.

On the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Consort Lin, the most favored woman in the harem, deliberately made things difficult for her. Lianqiu talked her way out of certain death, but she never expected her quick wits to draw the emperor’s attention. With one careless point of his finger, she became a target for everyone, dragged from the dust into a maelstrom, and overnight turned into the thorn in the side of the entire harem.
