The sequel to Journey to the West: Fighting and defeating the Buddha to attain Taoism
Three hundred years have passed, and the peach groves in Huaguo Mountain are still prosperous. Sun Wukong, the victorious Buddha, has been sitting in meditation in front of the Water Curtain Cave for a hundred years. The light of the Buddha lingers, but his unquenchable heart for practice is hidden. Becoming a Buddha is not the end. In the past, obtaining spiritual powers relied mostly on the innate spiritual roots and the power of the golden cudgel. In the face of potential disasters from heaven, this cultivation still has shortcomings.
Xuanzang's cloud enlightenment dispelled his confusion of "fighting" and pointed out the way to seek Taoism in Lingtai Fangcun Mountain. Three hundred years later, when he returned to his master, Patriarch Bodhi taught him the laws of heaven and earth and the principles of yin and yang, helping him break away from the shackles of "skills" and realize the true meaning of "Tao". After a hundred years of cultivation, Sun Wukong lost his fierceness and learned to overcome strength with softness. His fiery golden eyes can penetrate the laws of heaven and earth, and his golden cudgel moves flexibly according to his heart.
A sudden change occurred in the three realms, and the chaotic inner demon transformed from the dark origin eroded the spiritual mountain, and its chaotic energy was able to restrain the power of the Buddha and demon. At the critical moment, Sun Wukong followed the teachings of the Tathagata and the Patriarch, let go of his obsession, and integrated the three powers of Buddha, demon and Tao with his unsullied Taoist heart, turning into colorless energy to overcome the inner demons and protect the peace of the three realms.
After this battle, he attained the "Buddha of All Dharmas", but still maintained his original intention of protecting all living beings. In the years that followed, he resolved disputes with his Taoist heart and turned away violence with compassion. He no longer relied solely on the strength of a stick, but walked the world with tolerance and transparency. From being an unruly monkey to fighting and defeating the Buddha, to being at ease with all things, Sun Wukong's path of spiritual practice has no end. After Journey to the West, he continues to write a fairy tale about growth, letting go and protection.
