Synopsis
After raising a child alone for five years, metaphysics expert Su Qinghuan makes her way in the city with face reading, feng shui, and talismans. Sharp-tongued and quick to solve problems, she handles everything with ease. Her five-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Gu Nianxing, is gifted, clever, and well-versed in metaphysics. After stumbling upon a clue to her biological father’s identity, she grabs some talisman paper and sneaks off to Beicheng to find him.
Business tycoon Gu Yanchen commands every room he enters. He never believed in ghosts or spirits, until a little girl suddenly wraps her arms around his leg and calls him “Daddy,” then proves him wrong by accurately predicting a car crash. With the little one’s help, mother and daughter team up to foil business schemes and take down the fake sweethearts. The overbearing CEO goes from stunned to smitten, and his pursuit of his wife is sweet without being cloying. One quick fortune-telling reveals that Daddy is destined to lack both a wife and a child. Their life as a family of three is full of everyday metaphysical adventures, family protection, sweet romance, and satisfying moments, all wrapped in warmth that keeps you hooked.
The plots before 24 and after 25 are a bit incoherent. Before 24, the male protagonist said he was checking for the baby, but in chapter 25 he said he didn't know him. It doesn't make sense. It's okay to give it 2 stars because it's an outline, but the plot is confusing and incoherent.
