The protagonist was originally a modern-day researcher who transmigrated by accident to a fantasy world. Hai Chuan was conducting an experiment in the modern world when he was unexpectedly pulled into a spatial rift and transmigrated to the Xuantian Continent. He took over the body of a young man with the same name, an outer disciple of the Qinglan Sect who was bullied because of his incomplete spiritual root. The boy had just been gravely injured and was on the verge of death when Hai Chuan's consciousness merged with his, activating the “Interstellar Genetic Compatibility System” in his mind (a science-fiction element).
