The novel tells the story of Fang Ark, a Cuju genius who has the ability to "perceive and awaken the manipulated" in the fictional history "Dasheng Dynasty".
He started by founding the "Jinglei Cuju Academy", from promoting Cuju and cultivating seedlings, to being forced to get involved in Cuju competitions and political conspiracies between countries. The main plot revolves around his confrontation with a "Men in Black Robes" organization that attempts to use mysterious black powder to control people's hearts and subvert the world. Fang Zhou led his Cuju team from Dasheng to Goryeo, the Western Regions, Japan and even Penglai Island, cracking the conspiracy, rescuing the accused, and collecting clues. Finally, in the key showdown on Penglai Island, he used the "Cuju treasure" containing mysterious power - the white jade streamer ball, to destroy the core of the black-robed man's conspiracy and temporarily resolve the crisis.
The story ends in suspense with the Ark group returning home victoriously, but realizing that there is still a potential threat in the distance (a mysterious man holding a black Cuju).
