Demon Slayer: The Unfinished Days of Wind and Flower

Kanae Kocho gets bound to an absurd System: she can grow stronger by pranking Sanemi Shinazugawa.

The Demon Slayer Corps is soon plunged into chaotic daily life. She ties butterfly bows to his sword, scatters flower petals across the training grounds, and loads his food with a lethal amount of frosting. Sanemi is always furious, yet when she “accidentally” drops a flower hairpin, he secretly keeps it.

The Hashira start shipping them in secret. Giyu Tomioka quietly keeps track of their interactions, Kyojuro Rengoku shouts, “That’s youth for you!”, and Shinobu Kocho brews a “let’s be honest with each other” tea. As Kanae and Sanemi grow closer through their pranks, the Breaths of Wind and Flower resonate, giving rise to a powerful combined technique.

Then Doma appears, drawn by the “fragrance of the soul.” In the midst of a bloody battle, just before Kanae is swallowed by an ice lotus, she launches one last prank, pouring all her power and memories into the white scarf she never got to give him.

“Sanemi, this is my last prank.”

“Take my share, and watch the wisteria bloom.”

From then on, the Wind Hashira’s blade always traces the path of flower petals, and when no one is around, he whispers to the scarf. The System’s bond meter remains frozen at 100%, just like the woman who used to prank him with a smile, as if she had never truly left.

“The greatest prank of all is making someone live on in every breath you take.”
