In Shen Lang's world, there is only a safe area the size of the viewfinder. An accident at a disaster scene five years ago took the life of his partner and froze his courage to press the shutter. Now, he makes a living by taking still lifes and ID photos, until a strange and high-priced commission comes to him. The client asked him to go to "Qinglan Residence", an old house that had been abandoned for many years on the outskirts of the city, to photograph its internal structure, but he kept secret about its purpose.
Out of financial pressure and aroused curiosity about "special" light and shadow, Shen Lang stepped into the gloomy house wrapped with vines. Time seems to have frozen in the house, and dust dances in the slanting beams of light. As he habitually looked through the camera lens, the sight in the viewfinder made his blood run cold. Behind the supposedly empty second-floor window, a vague figure in white stood quietly. He put down the camera abruptly and looked with the naked eye. There were only broken window lattice and swaying spider webs in front of the window.
However, in the digital photos developed that night, that figure was extremely clear. Not only that, in the corner of the photo, he also captured a corner of a family photo frame that had been lost in the old house. The family of three in the photo were smiling brightly, and the father's face was surprisingly similar to the protagonist of a missing case in the news recently. What's even more creepy is that in all the photos taken at the old house, there are the same line of faint water stains that are definitely not his own, like guidance and a curse. Shen Lang realized that what he photographed was not the building, but the death words left behind. And that disappearance case may just be the bloody beginning.
