Help! My Guard Keeps Trying to Overstep His Place

[Sweet romance + male lead loves only the heroine + satisfying revenge + heroine flirts without realizing it + male lead seems innocent but is actually extremely possessive + both leads are virgins]

When Feng Qingning wakes up one day, she discovers she has transmigrated into the eldest daughter of the Minister of War’s household. She has the same name as the original owner, but also carries the horrific memories of dying as a condemned slave in her previous life.

The original owner was a do-nothing who watched helplessly as her entire family was executed after being framed for colluding with the enemy. She became a condemned slave, then was tortured by her venomous half-sister Feng Qingxue and the so-called “loyal” guard Pei Jingze, who worked together to have all four of her limbs chopped off and leave her to die in agony.

Feng Qingning immediately swears an oath: in this life, she will avenge the original owner and completely turn around the Minister’s household’s seemingly inevitable doom.

At the crucial moment when she must choose a guard, she flatly rejects Pei Jingze, whom her grandmother picked for her, and instead chooses a miserable little nobody whom no one else wants.

She gives him the name Jiang Shiyan, and from then on, she has a steadfast protector.

In her previous life, Pei Jingze was madly in love with Feng Qingxue? Then she’ll personally bundle him off to Feng Qingxue and see if he can keep up that devoted act. Just thinking about it feels great.

She takes on the concubines, punishes her wicked half-sister, and protects her family, charging full speed ahead on the road to saving them. But she doesn’t notice that the seemingly harmless guard Jiang Shiyan has begun looking at her differently, with a possessiveness so intense it’s almost impossible to hide.

One day, Jiang Shiyan kneels at her feet, takes her hand, and presses it to his chest. His voice is low and seductive:

“Eldest Miss... feel it. It beats only for you.”

He tilts his head up slightly, the corners of his eyes reddening, and presses her hand more firmly against his cheek.

“Won’t you be gentle with me? Or... let me be gentle with you.”
