The world is a multilayered space where strange and unusual events often occur. Yu Zhiqing, once a disciple of a Maoshan Taoist priest, dies while carrying out a mission. Nearby, a woman is giving birth, and her newborn daughter is struggling to survive. Yu Zhiqing’s soul somehow enters a new beginning, and she inexplicably gets recruited as a spirit officer. Xie Keyu comes from a family that has passed down the art of performing rites. He and Yu Zhiqing have been childhood friends, while her little sidekick was originally the divine beast Baize.
