During the war-torn era of the Five Kingdoms' struggle for supremacy, Xiang Xun was originally a grassroots bandit. During his escape, he met the doctor Su Ruoshui, the prodigal Zhao Wuyou, and the gluttonous follower Cheng Sanjin. They relied on their wisdom, humor and friendship to survive the turmoil. From being forced to go into battle, to gradually participating in the intrigues of various countries, and interacting with the serious Shen Changce as "friend and foe", there were constant jokes but dangers all the way. Everyone grew up from their own small difficulties into trend-setting figures, but always insisted on being relaxed and kind-hearted. In the end, they used "laughter" and "wisdom" to resolve the war in troubled times and usher in a new life. The plot is compact and each volume has an independent climax, but the main story line is coherent and progressive, and finally ends successfully.
