A Little Rebellious, a Little Crazy, and a Little Pitiful

[Period] [Everyday Family Life] [One Female Lead] [Unhinged and Unstable]

A crazy self, an irresponsible father, a cold stepmother, friends who may or may not be there, and relatives who only make things worse.

If you disobey, you feel you've let them down. If you obey, you feel you're betraying yourself.

Your parents give you just the right amount of love: not enough for you to grow up happy and feel completely loved, but not so little that you can be heartless and treat them without filial regard. Children are always torn between resentment and concern. We are conflicted: hurt by our parents' lack of understanding, yet moved by all they do for us. We can neither let go nor blame them. We want to escape from our parents, yet also want to go home and see them more often.
