Bizarre murders break out across the city, each victim accompanied by pale golden ancient runes. Their deaths are identical to the “Astral Curse” recorded in ancient texts.
Gu Shiyan, a calm and decisive criminal investigation captain, crosses paths with Shen Zhiyan, a mysterious scholar carrying an atlas of the stars. One wields the tools of modern forensics; the other understands the mysteries of ancient incantations. Their very different investigations converge through their shared determination to uncover the truth.
Beneath the mist-shrouded ancient city, a forbidden ritual sealed away for a thousand years, star-chart codes concealing deadly traps, and a bloodstained promise spanning time gradually come to light. Each time a rune appears, a deeper conspiracy unfolds; each shift in the stars foretells a deadly crisis. They must solve the ancient riddles behind the incantations, fend off the relentless pursuit of hidden forces, and face the painful abysses in their own pasts.
When the paths of the stars align with blood-red runes, and good and evil clash in the darkness, is this life-or-death quest the recurrence of fate, or justice's ultimate counterattack against evil? The two stand together on the edge of the abyss, battling an invisible curse with trust and courage, determined to let the truth break through the darkness and echo across the world beneath the stars.
