The story is set in the fictional court of a great power. Su Feng comes from a humble family and gets involved in the whirlpool of power with his resourcefulness. He met the aristocratic girl Chu Ningyan, the sharp-edged and powerful minister Zhao Mingyi, the grassy brother Tang Song, and the reformist Wang Wuhui. People are competing against each other for power and want to work together to change the troubled times. With the change of power and the undercurrent of the political situation, Su Feng continued to grow under the multiple conflicts of interest, loyalty, betrayal and family affection. Each character demonstrates a unique means of survival in humorous and fierce power struggles, and gradually realizes the "true meaning of power" in the ever-changing power struggle.
