Only later does Lu Zhiyuan learn that this cool, beautiful man is trapped in a dead end in every round of the illusion.
And he is the first person to try to rewrite the ending.
Later still, Pei Jin pins him against a wall amid the ruins:
“Did you come here to break the deadlock, or to save me?”
