Lin Mo, a modern young man, accidentally discovered the hidden secrets of a bronze Bagua mirror passed down from his ancestors. It could actually open a time and space channel connecting the early Republic of China (the period when the story of "Mr. Zombie" takes place) to the modern city. He has nothing to offer and lives in poverty in modern times, but after traveling through time, he is accepted as a disciple by Uncle Jiu (played by Lin Zhengying) by accident and learns Maoshan Taoism. From then on, he traveled back and forth between the two eras, using modern knowledge to deal with zombies and ghosts, and using Maoshan magic to solve strange incidents in the city.
