In the deepest hours of night in Zootopia, a light hidden for twelve years finally discovers why it exists.
Hu Lin Ying is a Bengal tiger whose body glows with icy blue light due to a genetic mutation. His fur is a night sky woven from deep purple and midnight blue, with luminous patterns like a river of stars flowing through it. This gift got him driven out by his own kind, leaving him to survive alone in Zootopia’s dark streets, until the museum’s “Moon Eye” gemstone was mysteriously stolen and Detectives Nick and Judy knocked on his door in desperation.
“We need a way to see through the dark.”
And he is the eyes of the darkness itself.
From his nervous first demonstration of his abilities to a redesigned police uniform personally approved by the commissioner; from precise fluorescent markings in the ventilation ducts to the dazzling beams that ultimately leave criminals nowhere to hide, Yingzi gradually steps out of the shadow of his self-imposed isolation and joins the Zootopia Police Department’s nighttime special operations unit, becoming the first “bioluminescent officer” in history.
But what truly gives him a sense of belonging is meeting Harvey Nightshadow, a bat detective. One perceives the world through light, the other maps space with sound waves. Beneath the infrared lights in the archives late at night, these two souls, both regarded as “misfits,” use shredded roast chicken, spectral data, and sonar diagrams to create a one-of-a-kind “light-and-sound investigative system.”
This is so well written, I can go straight to filming Zootopia 3
The author is from Beet, and his writing style is like a god. It is very interesting to read ❤️
