A Good-for-Nothing Scholar? I Hit Back with a Song of Wine

After transmigrating into the down-on-his-luck scholar Su Chen, he finds himself in a world where the Way of Letters reigns supreme. Before he can even memorize the Four Books and Five Classics, he's faced with a house stripped bare and the humiliation of a broken engagement: a hellish start from the outset. Fortunately, this world's literary tradition is incomplete, and masterpieces from the ages lie forgotten!

At a Lantern Festival poetry gathering, he sings a drinking song, and one poem, “Bring in the Wine,” leaves everyone in awe. Literary energy pours into him in a torrent, and the entire city is astonished!

From then on, the works of the Poet Immortal, the Poet Sage, the Poet Ghost, and the Word Emperor all come from his lips. “The Knight-Errant” makes the heroes of the land bow their heads; “Spring in a Pleasure Garden: Snow” brings emperors to their knees; and “Man Jiang Hong” can drive back a hundred thousand barbarians!

“Who says scholars are useless?”

As the classics of the sages reappear through him and the incomplete Sacred Way is made whole, Su Chen holds a brush in his left hand and a sword in his right. He wages war with poetry and song, and secures the realm with his writing. When the barbarian armies reach the city walls and the court is rotten to the core, he rises to the heavens in a single bound, forging a sage's heart and the courage of a scholar. With his strength alone, he opens the way to lasting peace for humanity!
