He was born into a family of court officials in the Southern Song Dynasty. After passing the Jinshi B Division, he served as the governor of Xinfeng County in Jiangxi Province and embarked on an official career. During Song Ci's more than 20 years of official career, he served as several senior punishment officials: Guangdong Didian Xingjian, Jiangxi Didian Xingjian and County Magistrate of Qianzhou (now Gan County), and Zhimi Pavilion Didian Xingjian in Hunan. Based on his experience in handling cases, he wrote five volumes of "The Collection of Cleansing of Wrongs". Stories about his investigation of criminal cases have been passed down among the people for thousands of years. This person is Song Ci, a famous detective in the Song Dynasty.
