If you don’t have the patience to read about the protagonist’s origins, you can start with the bonus chapter in Volume Two. I can’t change the chapter order for now, but I’ll see if I can improve it later. This book is highly visual, full of intense conflict, and designed for immersive reading, so it’s not suited to skimming. Thank you.
The Four Seas Record is a fantasy novel with heavy alterations, loosely based on modern history. Different regions have developed in different ways, and many places are under rival factions’ control, so don’t bring up things like security guards or cell phones. Such things have mostly been transformed into fantasy versions and adapted to the setting.

The earlier chapters may be a little serious. If you want to give it a try, you can start with the origins in Volume Two or jump in at Volume Three.
Heh, had enough of mass-produced, sickly-sweet romance? The protagonist can’t get past three steps without either getting a golden finger or making the villains lose their wits?
The destination of a fantasy story may not be hard to guess, but isn’t it boring when the journey is just mass-produced “face-slapping,” “harem,” and “mindless wish fulfillment”? You came to see great immortals battle, but all you got was a bunch of “dark, grim, and disturbing” lunatics blasting each other?
Then give this a try. This is a dark dynasty that feels real, a fantasy cultivation world on the cusp of modernization. The protagonist is extremely, extremely self-sacrificing, but if you haven’t seen exactly how he is before you come here to bash him, trust me, you’d be better off watching videos. There’s no need to waste your time here.
The first chapter lays out the worldbuilding, so I won’t need to explain it again after that. Things can move even faster.
I won’t drop this book, though there may be hiatuses. The most painful thing is trying to sell a fine blade in a busy marketplace, shouting to attract customers as though it were worth nothing.
