Yao Xuan sets out from the Yao Valley, using the search for Yao Chen as his reason for entering the Jia Ma Empire. He arrives just as Xiao Yan hits rock bottom because Yao Chen has absorbed his Dou Qi. Concealing his Dou Di strength, he approaches Xiao Yan under the identity of a "collateral branch disciple of the Yao Valley." He secretly resolves Xiao Yan's crises, including the broken engagement and schemes against his family, while guiding him along a path of growth more closely tied to the forces of Zhongzhou. At the same time, he investigates the truth behind Yao Chen's frame-up, gradually making contact with "One Hall, One Tower, Two Sects, Three Valleys, and Four Pavilions." As his strength gradually comes to light, Yao Xuan unifies the Yao Valley with the power of a Dou Di and allies with trustworthy forces such as the Pill Tower and the Starfall Pavilion. Together, they fight the Soul Hall and hostile forces such as the Ice River Valley and the Myriad Sword Pavilion. In the end, he exposes every conspiracy, restores the Yao Valley's leading position among the Three Valleys, and joins Xiao Yan in protecting the core order of the Dou Qi Continent.
