It tells the story of Zhu Jinzhang, a doctor at the mission hospital during the Changsha Battle in 1941, who discovered that the Japanese army intended to use the plague to create a "quarantine in the epidemic area" to cover their retreat. With deadly evidence in hand, he must make a choice between causing panic in the city or preventing biological warfare. A race between doctors and doctors begins quietly amid lies and war.
