Spirit-medium shamans are one branch of shamanism. At first, they were a form of healing people developed when medicine and doctors were scarce. Besides treating illnesses, spirit-medium shamans also read signs and events. They can communicate with heaven and earth and travel across rivers and seas. Their knowledge and skills surpass those of ordinary people, encompassing everything and leaving nothing out.
There is an account in an unofficial history. Though it has not been verified, it has been passed down by word of mouth.
The unofficial history Records of Beasts says: “There is a beast in a well. Its eyes bulge, its mouth juts out, its arms are long, and its legs are short. Its body is covered in oily black or white fur, and it is as intelligent as a human.”
Such an account is certainly startling. Could a beast like this really exist?
