The late Ming Dynasty was a time of chaos, with natural and man-made disasters happening one after another. Young Jia Youcai's family was ruined, and he embarked on the road to the world with idealism and humor. Accompanied by the martial arts heroine Lin Sanniang, the down-and-out young master Qiu Zian, and the street wanderer Heidou, they experienced wars, adventures in the market, grievances, and power struggles, and gradually found their own way to survive and grow in troubled times. The story is interspersed with Machiavellian tactics, warm friendship and light humor.
