"Tongjian Chronicles" is my country's first chronicle-style historical work, which pioneered the compilation method of "taking events as the outline". On the basis of retaining the original historical materials of "Zizhi Tongjian", it also clarified the events and made the cause and effect clear, making up for the shortcomings of previous chronicles and biographies. The author Yuan Shu once served as the Shaoqing of Dali Temple and the Minister of Industry. He is knowledgeable and especially good at history. He believed that the chronological narration of "Zi Zhi Tong Jian" would easily lead to fragmentation of historical facts, so he came up with the chronicle style, merging the contents of "Tong Jian" by events, from "Three Families Divided Jin" to "Zhou Shizong's Conquest of Huainan", a total of 239 events, one article for each event, which can be read clearly and understandably. It is still a classic book for ordinary readers to quickly understand ancient history.

At a glance, it not only maintains the integrity of the original book, but also makes it clear that the original appearance of Zizhi Tongjian Chronicle is a good book
