Rule Horror: Don't Trust the Me in the Livestream

I'm an exploration streamer. Every night, I livestream a “ghost-hunting game” in an abandoned hospital.

The rules are written on the hospital walls: [1. If you hear crying after 3 a.m., leave immediately. 2. Don't trust the reflection in the mirror. 3. If you see a little girl in red shoes, tell her that her mother is waiting for her in the staff room.]

My first two livestreams went smoothly, and I raked in gifts.

On my third livestream, I deliberately broke every rule for the views.

At 3 a.m., I went looking for the crying, made faces at the mirror, and tricked the girl in red shoes into the morgue.

The livestream's viewership exploded. I smiled at the camera and said, “See? The rules are all fake.”

The next day, I received a private message: “You broke the rules. Now it's your turn.”

The message came with a video showing me smiling at the camera and talking the night before.

Then the version of me in the video suddenly turned his head and spoke to the me outside the screen:

“Now you're the livestream content.”
