The God of War Ling Xiao runs an antique shop in a modern city and leads a low-key life. However, an accident exposed his identity and attracted the pursuit of the "Purifiers", an organization that specializes in hunting gods. During the escape, Ling Xiao met Lin Wan'er, a graduate student in archeology, and discovered that the mysterious stone "Concentration Stone" in her hand turned out to be an ancient artifact with powerful power.
In order to fight against the Purifiers, Ling Xiao and Lin Wan'er began to seek help from other gods. They successively visited the Kunlun Mountains, the Dragon Palace of the East China Sea, the gathering place of the Western pantheon and other god gathering places, and got to know many gods, including the Jade Emperor, Zeus, Odin, Ra and other pantheon leaders. In the process, they discover that the Purifier's true purpose is to open a portal to another world and release the evil creatures inside to rule the entire universe.
