Code Name Kite: Schemes of a Phoenix in Troubled Times

[Teng Guang] [Jiao Guang] [Super Guang]

In the first year of Jian'an, Liu Xin, the Prince of Guangling who disguises herself as a man, finds a beautiful person covered in wounds during a rainstorm.

He calls himself Zhang Jue. He possesses astonishing medical skills and strategic brilliance, yet he keeps waking in the dead of night, murmuring, “I am guilty.”

At the same time, Ma Teng, a warlord from Xiliang, arrives with his son. This dark-skinned, white-haired “living Buddha” speaks of Buddhist mercy, but when he takes up a blade, he descends like a demon of slaughter.

And the golden-haired, dark-skinned youth behind him, Ma Chao, smiles like a cheerful puppy, yet can turn around and slaughter an entire household because someone “stepped off with their left foot first.”

The troubled age boils, and the three forces converge.

The saint falls apart beneath his disguise, the living Buddha seeks redemption through slaughter, and the mad dog learns not to kill for her.

When the truth of her identity is finally revealed, she takes off her crown and lets her hair fall loose. “Allow me to introduce myself again. I am Liu Xin, and I am a woman.”

Ma Chao drops to one knee, looking up with his canine teeth just showing. “Then can I marry you? My life belongs to you.”

This game of strategy, begun with a lie, will finally be won with sincerity.

The karmic flames the Buddha cannot cross, I will cross. The people the gods cannot save, I will save.
