Rural Entrepreneurship: Red Rouge Guava

In Beiliu, southeastern Guangxi, piles of red guavas rot into mud in the fields. Fruit farmers squat on the ridges, wiping away their tears. A Ming, newly returned to his hometown, takes on the mess, and the whole village calls him a fool: "No one wants these fruits, even if they're free!"

Who could have guessed that he'd set up his phone and livestream the harvest, turning the "country fruit" into an online sensation; process the guavas into dried fruit, with orders booked three months in advance; and help the farmers build a brand, transforming "cheap produce" into premium gifts?

The people who once mocked him now come bearing cigarettes and liquor to ask for a partnership. The guavas that once rotted in the fields have become the whole village's cash cow. Watch A Ming turn a single fruit into a fortune for Beiliu's farmers!
